Spirit bond monk or 55 monk. What is better?
I have played both types of characters and noticed many advantages and disadvantages of both. I was wondering how other people felt.
Spirit Bond advantages:
Can infinitly tank enimies that deal more than 60 dmg
Are not fragile. (can tank 1 or 2 hits w/out enchantments up)
Spirit Bond disadvantages:
Being wanded is deadly.
Can't tank lower dmg enimies
55 Advantages:
Doesn't require 60 dmg
|I can't think of any more|
55 Disadvantages:
Fragile (only 55hp)
Vamp Dmg destroys tehm
Degen
Can be spiked/can be overwhelmed by too much dmg too fast
Thats my list, and so far I can't decide which one is better.
Whats your oppinion!

Spirit bond: cheaper to set up (don't have to buy 5 superior runes)
I would actually put abitility to handle degen as an advantage of the 55 (remove it from the disadvantages) and add it as a disadvantage of the spirit bonder. With +4 from mending and +9 from breeze, degen (such as burning from the dryders in UW) is no problem for 55s. However, spirit bonders can quickly run into problems from constant degen if nothing is attacking them.

my guide
bit lengthy, but it covers the build pretty well IMO
if you have any more questions about it, ask me in-game as it says in the guide.

Also, spirit bond has a 1/4 second cast time. It's a pretty safe bet that it won't be interrupted, whereas healing breeze might get disrupted.

One thing I have learned is that the NPCs will find a way.

well i'm more leaning towards 55hp. but over all both are pretty good and balanced depending on were and what your farming.
i want to say neither is better then the other.
ex 1. Underworld the 55hp works better then Spirit bond (well in my experance but both are slow). Solo build only. no help from SS or SV farming partner.
ex 2. Kepkhet's Refuge - and some of the deserts locations. Spirit Bond build works perfect. 55hp not good here.
ex 3. trolls. it's a tie.
ex 4. Avicara. I find that 55hp do a bit better then the Spirit Bond. again in my experance.
ex 5. Arborstone and some of Fraction areas i find 55hp a bit faster and die less.
so over all i want to say 55hp but again i think it depends on what and where.
just my 2 cents on this.

why have a "competiton"?
55 monk that uses spirit bond instead of breeze, problem solved. lol :/
zero reason in asking "what is better", even less reason to give an answer. theres no best thing in this game, some should know by know. its abou personal preference. both have advantages and disadvantages.

Degen DESTROYS the stability of the 55. If you get more than 3-4 degen on you the 55 becomes ALOT easier to kill and you can tank ALOT less enemies than with full regen.
A Spirit Bond can tank through degen like it was nothing as long as enough enemies are on him...

uhm, no why? FYI, spirit bond triggers before protective spirit, meaning you dont need 600+ health, therefore you can use 55 as well. of course, you just *cant* make your old 55 use spirit bond, as youd need the cheap armor from shing jae (with energy bonus if you want >.>) but meh, that was self explonotary!
